Program overview

The Program offers mid-career executives the opportunity to be part of a transformational learning journey  that  uniquely  merges  the  domains  of public  policy  and  leadership.  This program will help participants  to  gain  a  deeper understanding  of  the  public  policy  making  process,  frameworks,  and  tools.  It will also help them develop a solid foundation in the management and leadership skills needed to facilitate the formulation and implementation of public policies.

Learning Journey

The program is organized into six modules that will be delivered in concentrated sessions throughout the year at the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC) in partnership with the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) and the Hertie School of Public Policy. The last module is elective and will be delivered at the IMD campus.

Module 1: Leading self, teams, and Organizations

  • Increased understanding of the public policy development and measurement process.

  • Advanced understanding of actor constellations, institutions and the broader context within which policies are developed, shaped and implemented by the stakeholders.
  • Understanding how politics and government can control messages of government communications.

The program is designed for mid-level executives, including government heads of divisions and mid-level company managers with more than 7 years of experience who have prior team management responsibilities and strategy planning and implementation experience.
