Education
Sharan Banerjee is a Postdoctoral Researcher at KSPP. His work centers on international finance, macroeconomics, and banking, with a particular focus on capital allocation, firm-level financial frictions, and their impact on investment and productivity. His research also explores how global and regional risks influence capital flows in emerging markets, increasingly incorporating themes related to climate change, sustainability, carbon policy, and green finance. Before joining KSPP, Sharan earned a Ph.D. in Applied Economics and Management from the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University. He also holds a Master of Science in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University and a Master’s Degree in International Economic Policy from the Paris School of International Affairs at Sciences Po, where he was an Eiffel Excellence Scholar. He completed his undergraduate studies in economics at Presidency University (formerly Presidency College) in Kolkata. His doctoral dissertation, supervised by Dr. Eswar Prasad, examined capital allocation, the transmission of global uncertainty, and climate mitigation strategies.
