Impact Assessment in Public Policy: Theory, Global Good Practice, and Government Application

Impact Assessment in Public Policy: Theory, Global Good Practice, and Government Application

Program overview

This three-day executive program is designed for public policy professionals who shape and review regulations and policies in government. It places impact assessment at the center of good regulatory practice, explaining why governments worldwide use it to make decisions that are evidence-based, proportionate, and accountable. Participants work step by step through the core elements: problem definition, policy objectives, options, impact analysis (including cost-benefit analysis), consultation, implementation, and compliance. The pedagogy combines expert-led instruction, case studies, and an action-learning session in which participants apply impact assessment to a policy issue.
